It
doesn't matter if you're looking for your basic Open Water
Certification, or want to learn some specialty applications,
or if you are ready to become a professional diver, Dive
Friends can take you to whatever level you wish!
All dive training at Dive Friends Bonaire
is offered under the rules and principles of the Professional
Association of Dive Instructors (PADI). Our top concerns
are the safety and enjoyment of our customers!
If you are just starting to
enjoy the sport of scuba diving, then the "Open
Water Course" will teach you the basics of diving so
you can enjoy the adventure of scuba diving. All sessions
are completed under the watchful eye of one of our PADI instructors.
In this basic course, you will be limited to a depth of 60
feet/18 meters.
If you feel you are ready for
the next step, you may wish to consider taking the ext
course which will make you an Advanced Open Water Diver.
The dives you make while in this course will teach you to
begin focusing on other considerations in your aquatic habitat,
such as navigation, multi-level diving, deep diving, or search
and recovery.
After you have completed a minimum
of 20 dives, then you may be ready for the Rescue
Diver Course, which teaches you how to handle emergencies
above and beneath the water, or what to do with a diver who
is in distress. You will also
require to take an Emergency First Response course if you
do not hold current CPR (CardioPulmonary Resuscitation)
certification. The EFR course will teach you the basics
of First Aid, and is an excellent, non-diving course, for
anyone.
At
any time in your diving education, you may opt for the more
in-depth Specialty Training (some specialty courses do require
a minimum of Advanced Open Water certification). There are
many specialties from which to choose, but Naturalist (Fish
ID), Nitrox, Peak Performance Buoyancy, and Multi-Level are
some of the most popular to do on Bonaire.
For those wishing to attain a professional
rating quickly, Dive Friends Bonaire offers the College Pro
curriculum with a minimum of four persons.
Curriculum includes Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water
Diver, Emergency First Response (First Aid and CPR training),
Rescue Diver, and Divemaster. Plan to be on-island for 8
weeks to complete the entire curriculum. Package includes
all training materials and additional dives up to the sixty
necessary for the Divemaster rating.
Dive Friends Bonaire offers a wide selection
of instructional courses--view our Rate
Page for a complete menu of courses
